No offense to either of you. But, have either of you ever heard of "The Bible?" I'm not a christian, but everyone knows that "god" forbid Adam and Eve to eat off the apple tree, and Eve fell into temptation from Satan (in the form of a serpent I believe). She ate the apple and convinced Adam to eat the apple. So therefore, yes, it is a woman's fault why humanity has to suffer. I don't see defying the rules as trying to progress and better life. Rules aren't meant to be broken.

What are you talking about. About the only sins Bible Thumpers take more serious than murder is blasphemy. It is BLASPHEMY for people to look away from the bible for answers. Notice the serpent congratulating her while she was trying to understand how gravity works. The last comment was left for the video alone. Well I'm sorry to you. But, to me when strings crusade takes the video, and says 'so thats why humanity has to suffer." And the video obviously has nothing to do with humanity or it's suffering, and you reply to it, it seems to me like you two are talking about more than the video. Trust me I never said the video was promoting christianity if it were promoting, it'd be more accurate.

String replied to my comment sitting on 2 list. She thought I meant that the clay Eve in this video was the cause of everything to go wrong. I explained to her that no, in this video Eve is not cause for suffering it was a start to understanding. Which as you may know was a big problem to religion. Im sorry if that was my take on this video, but Rules and God had nothing to do with it. If you watch the full video you will notice he smacks religion around with Satire a lot.

Probably because we're the only animal that no longer has to worry about the day-to-day fight for survival. Animals don't consciously contribute to nature through some code of honor. They do what they do because it's the best way to survive. Take any animal out of that and rise them above it, and there's nothing that suggests to me that they would be any better than humanity. In fact, some might even be worse. Given their instincts, imagine a world of sentient cats. Now that's scary.

Unfortunately, we do still have to worry about the day-to-day fight for survival. In ancient times, people banded together in tribes because they needed a chance for survival. As weapons improved, people had to fight for their survival against other nations (or sometimes their own.) In the modern world, the fight for survival is economic, but it still consumes the vast majority of our time and energy. I just don't see how we can justify our wonton destruction with this.

Well, I'm not trying to justify it, but understand it, like you, and that was the conclusion I reached. You do have a point. But wait...wouldn't that be it? People are still so consumed by their own survival that it's still ingrained into our heads to put ourselves first, whether it be territory protection through war, damage to nature for resources, etc. I know I sound rather Pollyanna-ish, but I'd say it's just the effects of a developing species. In time, I believe we'll get better.

Ah. Right. The scientific evaluation of the behavior of man. Frankly, man has so much in common with the rest of the natural world that it's hard to pin down anything that could really be responsible for man's actions. The only thing I can think is that man has no natural predator. In short, we just need a bunch of klingons to show up and it'll solve everything.
Either that, or someone could tamper with our brains in some way to strengthen our innate desire for equilibrium.
